Lund Formula Student Team does well at Silverstone and Hockenheim.

The Formula Student Team of Lund University – proudly sponsored by Examec – has spent the summer competing at famed racing circuits Silverstone and Hockenheim.

Although they didn’t reach the podium, the team members were all in good spirits and proud of their achievements.

Every year, students from Lund University build a race car to compete in the world’s largest engineering competition, Formula Student, a competition that challenges every team to plan, design, analyze and manufacture a formula racing car. Every summer the car is put up to the test in the Formula Student competitions.

The purpose of the project is to give engineers further working experience by following through the entire production chain, from concept phase to finished product. Every new team has to work together to design and manufacture an as good car as possible. This features coming up with smart, sustainable solutions for the car design, manufacturing in an actual workshop and finally testing and adjusting the car. Parallel to the car manufacturing, the team prepares for the static events of the competition such as the business case.
